Master's Thesis Track
We host MSc students only within a thesis track. This track is best for students who may consider a PhD or want deeper research training. In the lab, students do hands-on work on real datasets and research questions connected to ongoing lab projects and partners.
About this position
- Gain research skills, strong portfolio, and a realistic view of academic and applied research
- Complete a research project
- Build methods or tools and validate them empirically
- A written thesis with a clear contribution
- Often a submission to a conference/journal
What We Do
AAIRL focuses on concrete problems in urban design and planning where AI can augment human capabilities. Our core research directions include:
- Human-AI interaction in design
- Generative architectural and urban design
- Built-environment analysis
- Built-environment simulations
What We Look For
- Strong motivation for research and writing
- Interest in computational, empirical, or design-oriented research
- Ability to work independently while receiving close supervision
- Relevant skills in design, planning, data analysis, programming, or spatial tools
- Availability for sustained thesis work within ongoing lab projects
